Canadian Pomsky is taking a well earned pause on adoptions until Fall 2021. COVID was a whirlwind of amazing puppies finding even more amazing families and homes! GREAT NEWS! We continue to facilitate adoptions of our healthy, happy puppies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Local and out of province adoptions continue as normal. We take your health and safety very seriously. We have limited the amount of visitors we will host per day, to two families. This ensures all families can come and meet their new puppy, while limiting contact to other families. We have taken additional cleaning precautions before and after families visit our home. If families have been traveling, feel unwell or suspect exposure to the COVID-19 virus, then please stay home and we can reschedule when the time is right.

It has been brought to our attention that there are individuals who are impersonating us and using our website to lure unsuspecting adopters with intentions to scam them for money.
The one and ONLY way to initially contact us is by sending us an e-mail through our CONTACT PAGE on our CanadianPomsky.com website.
What you can expect of us before your puppy’s adoption takes place, is full disclosure of our contact information. You always have the option to communicate with us through telephone, or to meet with us in person at our home. We never limit our communication to e-mails only. You are ALWAYS welcome to meet us, our dogs and puppies and personally pick your puppy up from our home.
That being said, we also provide safe, secure airline shipment of our puppies across Canada and into the USA. All puppies that are being shipped to their new families have a unique booking Waybill number provided by the airline company of which you may use to verify the booking.
We spend the time to get to know our new adoptive families and we never rush adoptions. We ask questions of you and in turn expect questions to be asked of us. We require each adoptive family to fill out and send to us our Pomsky Adoption Qualification Questionnaire. The quality of customer service you will receive from us, is the same service that inspires trust with our previous adoptive families. We pride ourselves on happily answering any and ever question you have- either before adoption, during or after.

We were off on ‘vacation’ for the majority of July this year, which rarely happens for us- as our dogs always come first! We were busy volunteering for a Spay/Neuter and Treatment Project in southern India through the non-profit organization World Vets. We were thrilled to volunteer to help the less fortunate street dogs of India! This wasn’t our first volunteer project with World Vets and certainly won’t be our last! We understand the importance of being able to give back to dogs in need; both locally here in Alberta as well as internationally.
Here is a picture of one of the abandoned street puppies who benefited from the project. Just look at that face- he was worth it all!

Canadian Pomsky joined the Calgary Humane Society in their annual Dog Jog- a volunteer effort to raise funds for the shelter to help homeless animals. Our amazing Pomsky owners got involved and our volunteer team raised almost $650 towards the Calgary Humane Society- Way to go everyone!
At the Dog Jog event, Canadian Pomsky helped unofficially break the Guinness World Record for the ‘The Most Dogs Wearing Bandanas’! We brought many of our Pomsky and Miniature Siberian Huskies to help break the old record, while meeting lots of our adoptive families with their Pomskies at the event. The old record was 764 dogs wearing bandanas set by the Australian SPCA in 2015. With the help of our dogs, the Calgary Humane Society broke the record with 813 dogs wearing bandanas! Such a fun time with our Pomskies and their amazing families!

Our Pomskies and MSH do great on hikes as well as long, snowy walks both on and off leash. We live minutes from the Rocky Mountains and snapped some pictures of the pooches enjoying a magical winter’s walk!

Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings from Canadian Pomsky! The Pomskies are loving the winter weather and we spent some fun afternoons outside during the holidays. Our dogs love when we enjoy the snow with them! Time is best spent together. We love seeing BIG smiles on our dogs faces and can’t help but share our favourite photos!

Winter has found it’s way to Alberta and we had a dump of snow in the middle of November. For our new Fall litters, it was their first time exploring the new white stuff! How adorable! Our Pomskies and Miniature Siberian Huskies absolutely love the snow and spend hours outside, indifferent to the cold! Enjoy some pictures of our dogs playing in the snow.

We love all the colours our Pomskies come in, but Blue Merle is by far our favourite. We are proud to be Canada’s only Blue and Red Merle Pomsky breeders. We were happy to attend the Society of Theriogenology Veterinary Reproduction Conference hosted in San Antonio, Texas earlier this month. Here at Canadian Pomsky, we take pride in learning and expanding our knowledge of how best to care for our doggies! Veterinary medicine is always advancing and it is our goal to stay educated and current- which benefits not only our dogs and puppies but our adoptive families too! This is another example of our uncompromising commitment to excellence.
Our dogs are part of the family. We LOVE to bring our dogs along when we travel! Lane, one of our Mother Pomeranians, was able to join in on the fun and join us in our travels to Texas. Boy it was hot, but very enjoyable!

We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather here in Alberta! We have sure been spoiled by all the warm days. The dogs and puppies have been thoroughly enjoying their days outside. We love the hot weather, but it is also important to stay cool! Here are some tips to keep your Pomsky or Miniature Siberian Husky cool this summer!
-Be sure to offer lots of cold, clean water
-Providing a shaded area can greatly decrease your dog’s internal temperature
-Fans! Although dogs only sweat through the pads of their feet, panting in the presence of a fan helps cool their bodies quicker
-Offering frozen treats is a fun and interactive way to keep them both cooled and hydrated! Plain ice cubes are lots of fun, but freezing peanut butter, broth or pieces of treats into ice makes for a tasty snack
-Taking walks down to the river/lake/stream or setting up a doggy-pool in the backyard is a fun water adventure! The majority of our dogs adore our pools and go in for a cooling dip or splash often during the day.

It has been a mild winter here in Alberta. We have really taken advantage of the frequent chinooks that have blown in! The doggies have spent SO much time enjoying the outside! However, cold winter temperatures can make us all feel a little stir-crazy! Looking for some indoor activities for you and your Pomsky? We have lots of ideas to share!
a) Grooming! – Get out the brush and give them a head to paw fur make-over! It helps with collection of dead hairs, eliminates any tangles and is relaxing for both you and your pooch!
b) Tricks, Tricks, Tricks! – Why not brush up on some obedience commands? Sit, Stay, Come! Or, teach a new trick! Here are some of our favourites and most are great crowd pleasers! Shake a paw, Spin (to the Right), Spin (to the Left), Play Dead, Beg, High Five, Bow and balancing a treat on the snout!
c) Join an Agility Club! Agility can be taught in an indoor arena, which is perfect for potential winter blues! Agility is not only mentally and physically rewarding for your dog, it is beyond fun for both of you!
d) Treats, Treats, Treats! -Low calorie treats and toys with rewards are great for mentally stimulating your Pomsky! Making your pup work for a reward is a great way to pass the time. Treat balls, or toys with pockets or openings can be packed full of tiny, low calorie treats! Watch your Pomsky engage their sense of smell and paw-eye coordination while they work for their treats.

WOW! Time flies! Canadian Pomsky was busy filming in July 2014 for the Canadian hit T.V. series Heartland. One of our Miniature Siberian Husky puppies was hand-selected to star in a few episodes! We are beyond thrilled to share with you the finished product! It was a blast being able to work with the darling Miniature Siberian Husky puppies on the set of the show. “Fang”, as our little star is named on the show, was such an excellent little boy and had natural talent! His confident and social personality made everything easy- and FUN!

Here at Canadian Pomsky there is always something exciting happening. This summer we have been honoured by having one of our rare Miniature Siberian Husky puppies hand selected by producer and head writer Heather Conkie to appear as a character on the hit Canadian T.V. series Heartland.
Heartland is filmed here in southern Alberta and is a widely loved T.V. series among all Canadians and beyond! Heartland is considered CBC ‘s (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) most popular family drama. Come this fall, Heartland will become the longest-running, hour-long series in Canadian history. The series is currently in its 8th year of filming and it was a blast having our Miniature Siberian Huskies on set. The puppies enjoyed themselves and all the film crew and cast were delighted by them. Our Wolf Sable coloured male puppy, subsequently named ‘Fang’ after his character on the show, is a natural born star! He impressed all with his beautiful markings and sweet personality. He will appear in multiple episodes airing in October 2014. Keep your eyes peeled for this famous pup!
Enjoy the photos of the puppies on set! The puppies were adored by everyone, especially actress Alisha Newton, who plays Georgie on the show.
